Lake Tahoe....Babymoon

June, 2016

For our babymoon we decided to go to Lake Tahoe. Neither of us had been there and it was in driving distance. I was a little nervous to fly at 7 months pregnant so we took that boring I-80 drive through Nevada to get to BEAUTIFUL Lake Tahoe. In Tahoe we stayed at the Marriott Timber Lodge which was very nice, but did not provide free parking :(

At the Salt Flats right before the Utah/Nevada border. Probably the best stop until Carson City.

This is at Eagle Falls at Emerald Bay. Its a short hike (which felt a little steep for a pregnant lady) but provided such a beautiful view! The cascading water was simply breathtaking.

The Beautiful Emerald Bay and Fannette Island

Vikingsholm Mansion, also known as Tahoe's Hidden Castle was really cool to see and a steep walk down from Eagle Falls. You can pay to go inside or walk around the grounds and bay for free. This was definitely worth seeing if you're in the area.

The beautiful sunset over the lake

On Saturday we hit up Taylor Creek and loved it! it was great for bird watching, walking around, and seeing beautiful Aspen trees. There is a boardwalk/trail that is easy to follow and walk around and the visitors center offers maps and helpful information.

On several of the Aspens you could see bear claw scratches. Some were very high up and others were lower.

It was a short trip but a beautiful one.
Reasons to go back: Beautiful scenery, awesome hikes, and yummy food.
Reasons not to go back: HORRIBLE parking situations. You have to pay most places, even hotels.
