San Fran stole our hearts

5.7.15

Okay okay... I know what you're thinking... what in the world took me so long to get to San Francisco? For some reason, my parents never thought that I NEEDED to go here. Well, this isn't usually the case but they were wrong. It was somewhat of a last minute trip but we went with some amazing friends who showed us the ropes. Let me clarify... this was MY first time to San Fran, not Mike's.  Naturally we hit up down town San Francisco and ate ice cream at Ghiradelli Square...

Walked down to Fishermans Wharf and saw all the seals sunbathing and did some touristy shopping (Ps... check out our little friend to the right)...

Then found this gem! A friend recommended Musee Mechanique and from the outside it did not look promising. It is FREE :) so we gave it a shot and ended up LOVING it. It is filled with all sorts of arcade games from the late 1800's to current. Some of them were the funniest things we have ever seen and you're able to play all of them. It was surprisingly one of the highlights of our trip.

We then hit up the famous Lombard Street which was just as cool as it is seems

We ate dinner at Il Casaro which is an Italian pizza and mozzarella bar. It was soooo yummy! The mozzarella was incredible and we all left feeling very satisfied and stuffed.

We made the boys dreams come true by going to a Giants game at the AT&T park which was a blast! They lost, but the atmosphere and major league ballpark excitement is definitely something we miss in Utah.

I have always been fascinated with Alcatraz and visiting it has been on my bucket list since I was little. On day 2 we filled this bucket list request. We actually missed our Ferry but luckily made it on to the next ferry. It takes about 20-30 minutes by ferry to get to the island which provides a really beautiful view of the island and of San Francisco.

I did not know, until our tour, that Indians had taken over and lived on Alcatraz for about 18 months. How cool is that!?

It was fascinating to learn about the prisoners who escaped and the living conditions inside the prison. I could have been there all day exploring.... it was crazy cool.

We had some yummy seafood at the Trident, which was right on the water and gave us a really pretty view while we were eating. (I know what you're thinking... why does Mike look so unhappy? He doesn't like to smile in pictures... we're working on it)

We then rented tandem bikes and rode around Golden Gate park which was way too much fun! Unfortunately we only had the bikes for about an hour and a half so we didn't have as much time as we wanted. This park is incredible and we had so much! This is definitely a MUST DO while in San Fran.
